The Government of the Republic of
Uzbekistan has received a loan from the International Bank for
Reconstruction and Development (IBRD) to cover the cost of the Enterprise
Institution Building Project. The government intends to apply a part of the
proceeds of this loan towards payments under the Contract for Supply and
Installation of an Integrated Business Information System (IBIS) For Uzbekistan
Securities Market Participants. The Enterprise Institution Building Bureau
(EIBB) serves as the implementing agency for the project and now invites sealed
bids from eligible Bidders for supply and installation of IBIS at 16 project
sites in various provinces of Uzbekistan.
A complete set of bidding documents in English may be purchased (starting from July 5, 2004)
by interested Bidders upon submission of a written application to the address
below - and upon payment of a nonrefundable fee of USD 150. The method of
payment is money transfer to the ElBB's account no.
20210840303837411001 at the Head office of Specialized State Joint-Stock
Commercial Bank "ASAKA" (code 00873). The document will be sent by a
courier to the address of those bidders, who present proof of payment or can be
obtained directly at the address below.
Bids
must be delivered to the address below at or before September 3, 2004 12:00 midnight. local Uzbekistan
time. All bids must be accompanied by a bid security of USD 16 000 or an
equivalent amount in a freely convertible currency. Late bids will be rejected.
Bids will be opened in the presence of the Bidders' representatives, who choose
to attend at the address below on September, 2004 at 15:00 local Uzbekistan
time.

The Khujand Water Company
intends, with the proceeds of a loan from the European Bank for Reconstruction
and Development [the Bank], to start a project of improving the water supply
system in the City of Khujand.
The project was reviewed by the Bank's Board of Directors on 8 June 2004
and the loan agreement will be signed in July 2004.
The proposed
project, which has a total estimated cost of EUR 3.25 million, will require the
procurement of the following goods, works and services:
- Supply and
installation of potable water pumps
- Supply of
workshop and communication equipment; and,
- Purchase
of pipes, fittings and valves for the rehabilitation of transmission lines, connection
mains and the distribution network.
Tendering
for the above contracts is expected to begin in July 2004.
Contracts to
be financed with the proceeds of a loan from the Bank will be subject to the
Bank's Procurement Policies and Rules and will be open to firms from any
country. The proceeds of the Bank's loan will not be used for the purpose of
any payment to persons or entities, or for any import of goods, if such payment
or import is prohibited by a decision of the United Nations Security Council
taken under Chapter VII of the Charter of the United Nations or under a law of
official regulation of the Purchaser's country. Interested suppliers,
contractors and consultants can register their interest by fax only.
